Some of the services and products that FDM provides are effective credentialing, billing, coding guidance and audits, collections, appeals, payment resolution and customized financial reporting. FDM has a comprehensive compliance plan and is a certified member of the Health Billing Management Association (HBMA), as well as other medical specialty associations.
FDM has been in business since 1988 serving a number of physicians and their practices. We stay current on all the latest compliance and legislative updates in order to keep our physicians out of harm’s way. Financial Data Management has a team approach, giving you access to a panel of team members who are experts in billing, coding and collection. We also have IT professionals that are available to provide you with the newest services, such as automated phone calls to your patients to confirm their appointments, and even offer you assistance with the new electronic health record (EHR) requirements.
Provider Enrollment & Credentialing FDM establishes a database of provider enrollment, government contract, and insurance carrier and hospital credentialing for the client. All applications filled-out, documents scanned, and sent for signature to the client.
Accounting Services Standardized accounting for cash posting and deposits, accurate adjustments/write-offs, and refund determinations; with detailed reports for cash management purposes. Refund check writing services for an additional cost.
Client Liaison Single-point-of-contact for all billing and collection questions and concerns. One dedicated team member available to meet for the purpose of discussing data issues, report analysis, and dispute resolution.
Electronic Billing FDM uses MedAvant, Avialty and Office Ally as our clearinghouses for electronic claims. FDM accepts electronic funds transfer directly from Medicare, Blue Cross, United Healthcare, Medi-Cal, Blue Shield, and Aetna. Excluding work comp, FDM is 95% electronic for claims submission and payment uploads (when available from payor).
Collections & Road Trips We do not let money sit without benefit of appeals, collection phone calls, and even road trips made to the insurance carriers for problem collections. FDM has relationships with the client’s payers for improved collections. Phone calls are made and statements are sent to patients for their portion. Our philosophy is, “FDM can’t get paid until the client gets their money”.
Compliance and Audits Compliance is the number one issue for FDM. Doing business in a legal, honest and ethical manner is good for business. More money can be obtained by doing the right thing for the right reason. FDM continually audits for accuracy.
State of the Art Billing Computer System The Medinformatix billing computer system allows the company to track and report each area captured on the patient account. This allows the client to request customized reports that will benefit the way they do business and what is important to them.
